This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) defines the requirements for a lightweight polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) lined, metallic reinforced, hose assembly suitable for use in high temperature, 400 °F, high pressure, 3000 psi, aircraft hydraulic systems, also for use in pneumatic systems which allow some gaseous diffusion through the PTFE wall.
This report provides current practice measurement methods for quantifying nonvolatile particle matter at the exit plane of aircraft gas turbine engines. This document contains detailed information for many instruments and techniques, described in AIR5892A, that have been applied in aircraft engine field tests since AIR5892A was first issued in April 2003. There are four sections, identified as Technical Appendices (TA), presenting measurement techniques, sampling, and quantification of nonvolatile particles. The sections are written in the format of Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) documents and intended to progress to recommended practices upon overcoming existing technical challenges.
This standard describes the accepted methods used for preparing aerospace sealant test specimens for qualification and quality conformance or acceptance testing. AS5127/1 and AS5127/2 are to be used in conjunction with this document and the applicable AMS specifications.
This ARP outlines recommended practices to quantify the concentrations of a subset of bleed air contaminant marker compounds on an aircraft propulsion engine or APU prior to delivery and installation on civil and military aircraft. Testing is specified during steady state (non-transient) operation only, in a ground level test bed. Included are recommended test setup, test procedures, techniques for sampling ambient air and bleed air, and one or more specific analytical methodologies for each of the suggested bleed air contaminant marker compounds at quantification levels, given practical constraints.

This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) is prepared for stakeholders seeking information about the evolution, integration, and approval of SHM technologies for military aircraft systems. The report provides this information in the form of (a) two military organizations’ perspectives on requirements, and (b) general SHM challenges and industry perspectives. The report only provides information to generate awarness of prespectives for military aircraft and, hence, assists those who are involved in developing SHM systems understanding the broad range of regulations, requirements, and standards published by military organizations that are available in the public domain from the military organizations.
