This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars up through 4.000 inches (101.60 mm) in nominal diameter or least distance between parallel sides, inclusive, forgings of thickness up through 4.000 inches (101.60 mm), inclusive, and stock for forging of any size (see 8.7).
This specification, in conjunction with the general requirements for steel heat treatment covered in AMS2759, establishes the requirements for heat treatment of precipitation-hardening corrosion-resistant, maraging and secondary hardening, steel parts. Parts are defined in AMS2759. Parts made from steels other than those specified in this specification may be heat treated in accordance with the applicable requirements herein using processing temperatures, times, and other parameters recommended by the material producer unless otherwise specified by the purchaser. General ordering instructions are specified in AMS2759.
This standard defines the requirements for bulk protective sleeve to provide fire resistance for aircraft hose assemblies, which will enable these assemblies to meet the requirements of AS1055. NOTE: Use of this sleeve does not eliminate the need to demonstrate that the sleeved assemblies will meet the applicable requirements of AS1055.
This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) is applicable to military and commercial aircraft. It specifies the dimensions, tolerances and size codes (dash numbers) for use in glands per MIL-G-5514 where squeeze at low temperature is often insufficient to provide a leak-tight seal. The dimensions and tolerances specified in this standard are suitable for any elastomeric material. This standard should not be used as a part standard, therefore no part numbers like AS5798-001X shall be created. Each dash number, which should be appended to an appropriate drawing or standard number, identifies one size O-ring only. An AS5798 sized O-ring is intended to replace an AS568 sized O-ring of the same dash number. An X suffix is part of the dash number to signify oversize. Temperature limitations of 275 °F (135 °C) and coefficient of thermal expansion of 9.0 x 10⁻⁵ unit length per °F (1.6 x 10⁻⁴ unit length per °C) were used for swell calculations.
This specification covers a corrosion and heat-resistant nickel alloy in the form of welded and drawn tubing 0.125 inch (3.18 mm) and over in nominal OD and 0.015 inch (0.38 mm) and over in nominal wall thickness (see 8.6).
This specification covers a nitriding grade of premium aircraft-quality, low-alloy steel in the form of bars, forgings, mechanical tubing, and forging stock. AMS6496 and AMS6497 cover UNS K23280 with other quality levels.
This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of rolled or forged rings up to 6 inches (152 mm) inclusive, in nominal thickness at the time of heat treatment, and having an OD to wall thickness ratio of 10 or greater (see 8.6).
