Rubber: Fluorocarbon Elastomer (FKM), 70 to 80 Hardness, Low Temperature Sealing Tg -40°F (-40°C), For Elastomeric Parts in Aircraft Engine Oil, Fuel and Hydraulics Systems
|
Product Code: AMS3353
Date Published: 2009-04-14
Issuing Committee:
Ams Ce Elastomers Committee
Scope
This specification covers high temperature, compression set and fluid resistant fluorocarbon elastomer material to be used in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions and molded shapes for aeronautical and aerospace applications.
This specification should not be used to address products such as O-rings, compression seals, O-ring cord, and molded-in-place gaskets. For those applications AMS7379 should be used.
These products have resistance to a variety of gas turbine engine oils, including high thermal stability (HTS) oils, fuels, and hydraulic fluids, but usage is not limited to such applications. Each application should be considered separately. This fluorocarbon (FKM) has a service temperature range of -60 to +400¿F (-51 to +204¿C) in air.
