Scope:

This specification covers a Perfluorocarbon (FFKM) rubber in the form of molded rings, compression seals, o-ring cord, and molded-in-place gaskets for aeronautical and aerospace applications. These products have resistance to a variety of fluids, but usage is not limited to such applications. Each application should be considered separately. This perfluorocarbon (FFKM) has a typical service temperature range of +5 to 554 F (-15 to 290 C).

Rationale:

Specification has been revised to incorporate AMS3085 (Reference Oil 300) to replace AMS3021 (Stauffer 7700), to increase the temperature for testing AMS3085 from 175 °C to 200 °C, Addition of compression set testing in AMS3085 as well as long term compression set testing (Table 1 – 3.2.7), to modify the acceptance tests (Table 2 and 3), to include qualification by responsible QPL agency to a Qualified Products List (QPL.) and to use the new specification template developed by the CE Committee.
