Scope:

This procurement specification covers bolts and screws made from a corrosion and heat resistant, age hardenable nickel base alloy of the type identified under the Unified Numbering System as UNS N07001. The following specification designations and their properties are covered: AS7471 165 ksi minimm ultimate tensile strength at room temperature. 75 ksi stress-rupture strength at 1350 °F. 105 ksi tension to 10.5 ksi tension fatigue at room temperature. AS7471-1 165 ksi minimm ultimate tensile strength at room temperature. 99 ksi minimum ultimate shear strength at room temperature.

Rationale:

Update document to specify current test standards and screw thread standard. Clarify grain size requirements, define appearance after final heat treatment and adopt ASTM E340 and ASTM E407 for etching of parts to reveal flow lines and grain structure.
