SAE J2600 applies to the design and testing of Compressed Hydrogen Surface Vehicle (CHSV) fueling connectors, nozzles, and receptacles. Connectors, nozzles, and receptacles must meet all SAE J2600 requirements and pass all SAE J2600 testing to be considered as SAE J2600 compliant. This document applies to devices which have Pressure Classes of H11, H25, H35, H50 or H70. 1.1 Purpose SAE J2600 is intended to: • Prevent vehicles from being fueled with a Pressure Class greater than the vehicle Pressure Class; • Allow vehicles to be fueled with Pressure Class equal to or less than the vehicle Pressure Class, • Prevent vehicles from being fueled by other compressed gases dispensing stations; • Prevent other gaseous fueled vehicles from being fueled by hydrogen dispensing stations.

Measurement of Radiated Emissions from Integrated Circuits—TEM/Wideband TEM (GTEM) Cell Method; TEM Cell (150 kHz to 1 GHz), Wideband TEM Cell (150 kHz to 8 GHz)

2017-09-22
CURRENT
J1752/3_201709
This measurement procedure defines a method for measuring the electromagnetic radiation from an integrated circuit (IC). The IC being evaluated is mounted on an IC test printed circuit board (PCB) that is clamped to a mating port (referred to as a wall port) cut in the top or bottom of a TEM or wideband TEM (GTEM) cell. The test board is not in the cell as in the conventional usage but becomes a part of the cell wall. This method is applicable to any TEM or GTEM cell modified to incorporate the wall port; however, the measured RF voltage is affected by the septum to test board (wall) spacing. This procedure was developed using a 1 GHz TEM cell with a septum to wall spacing of 45 mm and a GTEM cell with average septum to wall spacing of 45 mm over the port area. Other cells may not produce identical spectral output but may be used for comparative measurements, subject to their frequency and sensitivity limitations.

Modal Testing and Identification of Lower Order Tire Natural Frequencies of Radial Tires

2017-09-19
CURRENT
J2710_201709
This SAE Recommended Practice describes test methods for measuring and identifying the natural frequencies for the lower order modes of an inflated radial tire with a fixed spindle while expending modest effort and employing a minimum of test equipment. The methods apply to any size of radial tire so long as the test equipment is properly scaled to conduct the measurements for the intended test tire. Two types of boundary conditions are considered for the tire: unloaded and loaded against a flat surface. The test involves the performance and measurement of an input vibratory force (excitation) to the tire and the corresponding vibratory output (response). The data are suitable for use in determining parameters for road load models and for comparative evaluations of the measured properties in research and development. NOTE 1—The focus of this standard is identification and reporting of the lower order natural frequencies of the tire using a simple test procedure.

Vehicle Power Test for Electrified Powertrains

2017-09-19
CURRENT
J2908_201709
This document provides test methods for evaluating the maximum power of electrified vehicle powertrain systems by direct measurement at the drive wheel hubs or axles. Additional tests are included specifically for PHEVs to measure electric-only propulsion power and for HEVs to measure electric power assist and regenerative braking. The testing requires either a chassis or hub dynamometer for all driven wheels. Results are processed to provide fair and consistent comparisons of power capabilities among different designs of electrified powertrains. Tests can also be performed on conventional vehicles if precise comparisons to electrified vehicles are desired.

Application Layer - Diagnostics

2017-09-18
WIP
J1939/73
SAE J1939-73 Diagnostics Application Layer defines the SAE J1939 messages to accomplish diagnostic services and identifies the diagnostic connector to be used for the vehicle service tool interface. Diagnostic messages (DMs) provide the utility needed when the vehicle is being repaired. Diagnostic messages are also used during vehicle operation by the networked electronic control modules to allow them to report diagnostic information and self-compensate as appropriate, based on information received. Diagnostic messages include services such as periodically broadcasting active diagnostic trouble codes, identifying operator diagnostic lamp status, reading or clearing diagnostic trouble codes, reading or writing control module memory, providing a security function, stopping/starting message broadcasts, reporting diagnostic readiness, monitoring engine parametric data, etc.

Welded Flash-Controlled Low-Carbon Steel Tubing Normalized for Bending, Double Flaring, and Beading

2017-09-14
WIP
J356
The SAE Standard covers normalized electric-resistance welded flash-controlled single-wall, low-carbon steel pressure tubing intended for use as pressure lines and in other applications requiring tubing of a quality suitable for bending, double flaring, beading, forming, and brazing. Material produced to this specification is not intended to be used for single flare applications due to the potential leak path that would be caused by the ID weld bead or scarfed region. Assumption of risks when using this material for single flare applications to be defined by agreement between the producer and tube purchaser. This specification also covers SAE J356 Type-A tubing. The mechanical properties and performance requirements of standard SAE J356 and SAE J356 Type-A are the same. Therefore, the designated differences of Type-A tubing are not meant to imply that Type-A tubing is in anyway inferior to standard SAE J356.

WIP
J3155
This SAE Recommended Practice provides test protocols with performance requirements for Camera Monitor Systems to replace existing statutorily required inside and outside rear-view mirrors for US market road vehicles. This practice expands specific technical content while retaining harmonization with the FMVSS 111 Rear Visibility standard, and other international standards. This is accomplished by defining required roadway fields of view as specific fields of view (FOV) displayed inside the vehicle. Specific testing protocols and/or specifications are added to enhance ease of use using straightforward language and any specifications are intended to be independent of different camera and display technologies unless otherwise explicitly stated.

Torque-Tension Test Procedure for Steel Threaded Fasteners - Inch Series

2017-09-12
WIP
J174
This test procedure is intended to provide a quality control method for checking torque-tension characteristics of non-prevailing torque type threaded steel fasteners 1/4 through 1 in nominal diameters. Realistically, torque-tension relationships for specific individual fastener assembly joints will vary due to the different joint parameters. Tests using actual joint components will be required to determine accurate torque-tension values for those conditions. For the metric version, see SAE J174M.
