This Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) describes methods of vacuum bagging, a process used to apply pressure in adhesive bonding and heat curing of thermosetting composite materials and metalbond for commercial aircraft parts. If this document is used for the vacuum bagging of other than thermosetting composite materials and metalbond, the fitness for this purpose must be determined by the user. The methods shall only be used when specified in an approved Repair Document or with the agreement of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
This Recommended Practice utilizes existing industry standards to identify a common physical interface and define the protocols necessary to retrieve records stored by light duty vehicle Event Data Recorders (EDRs). To accomplish this, the SAE J1962 Diagnostic Connector is designated as the primary physical interface for EDR Retrieval Tools. This Recommended Practice is intended to be used for the development of EDR Retrieval Tools. Retrieval tools are intended to interface with light duty vehicles and to produce EDR Record Reports with data element formats specified by SAE J1698-1. This specification covers sub-critically annealed or normalized electric resistance welded and cold-drawn single-wall high strength steel tubing intended for use in hydraulic pressure lines and in other applications requiring tubing of a quality suitable for bending, flaring, cold forming, welding and brazing. Nominal reference working pressures for this tubing are listed in ISO 10763 for metric tubing and SAE J1065 for inch tubing.
This SAE Recommended Practice defines the boundary line for establishing dimensional compatibility between air disc brake calipers and 22.5 inch diameter disc wheels and includes valve stem consideration. The line establishes the minimum wheel with valve stem envelope to allow interchangeability. This document addresses dimensional characteristics only and makes no reference to the performance, operational dynamic deflections or heat dissipation of the system. It is up to the system integrator to ensure sufficient clearance exists between the caliper, wheel and valve stem to provide safe operating conditions. The component level EPB actuation NVH task force should review existing specifications and measurement methods used in the industry to find any commonalities and propose a recommended method for measuring and evaluating component level EPB actuation NVH to be used as a common standard throughout the industry. The task force should acknowledge the following objectives: 1. Task force should review existing industry specifications and further define the scope for creating the new standalone component level EPB actuation NVH standard a. The common standard should be universally recognized and accepted by the automotive industry b. Provide confidence that acceptable vehicle related NVH results will be achieved if vehicle level testing is completed c. Provide clear verifiable acceptance criteria 2. Task force must lay out steps and timing to complete the development of the new common standard. 3.
This recommended microscopic practice for evaluating the inclusion content in steel has been developed as a practical method of quantitatively determining the degree of cleanliness of steel. This method has been established as a reasonable control for steel mill operations and acceptance for production manufacturing. It has been widely accepted for carbon and alloy steel bars, billets, and slabs. Exceptions are resulfurized grades which are outside the limits of these photomicrographs and the high carbon bearing quality steels which are generally classified using ASTM E 45-60T, Method A, Jernkontoret Charts.
