Compound, Silicone Rubber Remover Aircraft Turbine Engine Components Room Temperature Application

Scope:

This specification covers a silicone-rubber-remover compound in liquid form of a liquid supplied as a ready-to-use product. This compound has been used typically for removal of silicone rubber adhesive/sealant materials from turbine engine components by immersion at room temperature, but usage is not limited to such applications. This compound shall not be used on steel parts having hardness of 40 HRC or over.

Rationale:

This specification have been reafirmed in 2004. It seems that chemical manufacturers are not producing this type of product any more. We should consider Cancelling it or releasing it as is just in case there is a need for it. I have made a search and have not found any application that will reference that specification.
