This specification covers an electrically-conductive adhesive supplied as two components, a silverfilled, epoxy-base adhesive and a separate curing agent which may be paste or liquid.
Make correction to wrong test methods JUSTIFICATION FOR CHANGE 1. AMS-3681 calls out ASTM-D-257 as the test method to test Volume Resistivity 2. Recommend replacing ASTM-D-257 with MIL-STD-883, Method 5011.6 3. ASTM-D-257 is an incorrect method for testing the volume resistivity of the conductive adhesive. 4. The method title is “DC Resistance or Conductance of Insulating Materials” and warns in section 1.2 that “These test methods are not suitable for use in measuring the electrical resistance/conductance of conductive materials”. 5. ASTM-D-257 provides no test method for conductive adhesives. 6. MIL-STD-883 method 5011.6 outlines an applicable test method for conductive adhesives. It points to ASTM-D-257 but only for insulative materials. 7. NTS lab uses MIL-STD-883 for volume resistivity testing. 8. AR and Chomerics labs use similar methods for volume resistivity testing
