Core, Honeycomb, Fibrous, Aramid Base, Phenolic Coated

Scope:

This specification covers expanded honeycomb core made of fibrous aramid paper sheets and supplied in the form of blocks, slices, and ordered shapes.

This honeycomb core has been used typically for bonded sandwich structures requiring high strength and corrosion resistance in the temperature range -65 to +180 °F (-54 to +82 °C), but usage is not limited to such applications.

Rationale:

Need to fix a typographical error that exists in the SI unit mechanical properties for the L direction shear modulus at room temperature. The current standards lists the requirement at 14.8 ksi when it should be 1.8 ksi.
