The purpose of this SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) is to establish guidelines for the measurement of static and dynamic characteristic properties of aircraft tires. It is intended as a general guide toward standard practice, but may be subject to frequent changes to keep pace with experience and technical advances.
The following items have been recommended to be updated in this document: Additional break-in procedure. Optional determination of stiffness using hysteresis method. Shift fore-aft hysteresis test to not cross zero. Standardize torsional stiffness method. Update accuracy of load measurements. Include alternate method of obtaining bottoming load.
