General Specification for Elastomeric Bearings

Standard:
Scope:

This document defines the requirements for spherical, radial-journal, conical and thrust bearings which are of laminated elastomeric construction. These bearings are for use in an environment having a temperature spectrum within a maximum ambient temperature range of -65 degrees F to +160 degrees F while reacting oscillating loads and motions.

Rationale:

This document is a MIL-SPEC that was never converted to an AS Standard. It was last revised in 1988, but it continues to be called out in contracts and drawing packages. It needs to be updated and converted to an AS Standard. The ACBG committee is the owner of this document and the Plain Bearing Committee voted to have this converted and updated.
