Interior Decorative Clear Coating for Metal Surfaces

Scope:

The clear coating is an interior decorative coating used on metal substrates to enhance decorative value and for wear protection. Certain metal might tarnish if it doesn’t have a coating applied it to protect against scratches, and the clear coating allows you to protect the surface as well as bring up the gloss.

Rationale:

Currently, there is no industry standard that covers clear coatings to be used as an interior high gloss wear protection coating for metal surfaces. This coating is currently being used by Boeing for interior decorative applications to metal substrates. The coating being used is provided by Sherwin Williams, and is the material that is intended to be qualified to this specification.
